Multi-Skilled Carpenter – Mobile Engineer

The Role
Masterfix is looking for an experienced Multi-Skilled Carpenter to join our mobile engineering team, working across a varied portfolio of residential properties, managed blocks, retail stores and hospitality venues throughout London.
We are open to applications from experienced tradespeople looking for either a PAYE position or self-employed engagement.
This is a genuinely varied role and is not suitable for someone looking for a static position. One day you could be attending an urgent make-safe, the next carrying out repairs within a high-end apartment, retail store or communal area, followed by planned renewal or upgrade works.
We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, can think on their feet and understands that great customer service is just as important as technical ability.
Typical Works
- Reactive carpentry and building fabric repairs
- Emergency make-safe works
- Door, frame, lock and ironmongery repairs and replacements
- Fire door-related repairs where appropriate
- Kitchen and fitted furniture repairs
- Skirting, architraves, flooring and timber repairs
- Minor partitioning, boxing-in and making good
- Painting and decorating, including preparation and finishing
- Wall and floor tiling repairs and replacements
- General handyman and multi-trade maintenance
- Minorplumbing and general property repairs where competent
- Planned replacements, renewals and property upgrades
- General building fabric repairs
- Fault finding and providing practical solutions to site issues
What We're Looking For
You will need to be an experienced, confident tradesperson who is comfortable working independently and dealing directly with clients, residents, property managers and site teams.
You must have:
- Minimum 10 years' experience within carpentry, building maintenance or a similar multi-skilled role
- Strong first and second-fix carpentry skills
- Good all-round decorating, tiling and handyman capabilities
- Previous experience within occupied residential or commercial properties
- A practical, problem-solving approach
- Ability to diagnose issues and determine the most appropriate repair
- High standards of workmanship and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Professional appearance and attitude
- Ability to manage your own workload while working as part of the wider Masterfix team
- Full, clean UK driving licence
Experience working within high-end residential, block management, retail or hospitality environments would be particularly beneficial.
The Person
We are not looking for someone who simply wants to be given a list of tasks each morning. We need an engineer who can assess a problem, find a solution and get the job done properly.
You will be representing Masterfix in customers' homes and client properties, so professionalism, communication and respect for the environment you are working in are essential.

Pay: £41,500.00-£52,000.00 per year
