Permanent | Part-time | Based in Paisley with travel between our four branches
JW Grant is looking for an experienced, practical hard landscaper or groundworker to improve and maintain our landscaping displays and external areas across our four branches.
This is not a gardening or soft-landscaping position. We need someone with proven hands-on experience who can confidently lay paving, build walls, repair concrete and complete projects independently to a high standard.
The work will include:
- Removing and replacing existing landscaping displays
- Preparing ground and laying sandstone, porcelain and concrete paving
- Building and repairing sandstone, concrete-block and brick walls
- Breaking out and repairing damaged concrete yard surfaces
- Installing timber and composite fencing, decking and cladding
- Completing drainage, groundwork and general external repairs
- Maintaining clean, tidy and professional outdoor display areas
- Travelling between our four branches as projects require
Who we are looking for:
You must have:
- At least three years’ proven experience in hard landscaping, groundwork or a similar trade
- Strong paving and ground-preparation skills
- Experience building walls and carrying out concrete repairs
- Confidence using hand tools, power tools and relevant equipment safely
- The ability to assess a job, organise the work and complete it without constant supervision
- Good attention to detail and pride in the finished result
- The physical ability to undertake demanding outdoor work in all weather
- A full UK driving licence and your own transport
- A reliable work record
Experience installing porcelain paving and composite products would be particularly valuable.
This is a permanent opportunity within an established, growing builders’ merchant. It would suit an experienced tradesperson who enjoys varied work, takes genuine pride in their workmanship and wants the security of a long-term employed position.
Job type: Permanent, part-time
Location: Based in Paisley, with regular travel to our other branches
Salary: £17.00 - £20.00 per hour
Hours: 24 per week, Mon-Wed 7.30-4.30
Requirements: Full UK driving licence and own transport
