The Role
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Deputy Service Manager to support the leadership and development of our domiciliary care service. Working closely with the Operations Manager and Responsible Individual, you will play a key role in ensuring compliance, maintaining care standards, and supporting staff to deliver exceptional care.
This is an exciting opportunity for a Health and Social Care professional with strong leadership skills who is passionate about delivering high-quality care and contributing to service growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the management team to ensure compliance with CIW regulations and company policies
- Maintain and promote high standards of care delivery
- Supervise, support, and develop care staff, fostering a positive and compassionate team culture
- Assist in the development and implementation of person-centred care packages
- Support quality assurance processes, audits, and service improvement
- Act as a key point of contact for staff, service users, families, and professionals
- Participate in the on-call rota and ensure effective service coverage
- Contribute to team meetings, projects, and organisational goals
- Maintain accurate records and uphold confidentiality at all times
- Deputise for the Operations Manager when required
Requirements
- Proven experience in a leadership or senior role within a regulated care setting
- Strong knowledge of CIW, Social Care Wales standards, safeguarding, and health & safety
- Experience in care planning, risk assessments, and person-centred care delivery
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in Health and Social Care (including senior-level experience)
- Registered with Social Care Wales
- QCF Level 4 in Health & Social Care (or working towards)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with compliance, audits, and care documentation
- Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle
- Enhanced DBS check (required)
- Able to uphold The Active Offer of Welsh
