CAM Tyre and Welding is a well-established, family-run engineering company based in Radstock with over 50 years of manufacturing experience. We specialise in precision CNC machining, fabrication and the design and manufacture of our own lifting and handling equipment, supplying customers across a wide range of industries.
We're looking for an experienced CNC Programmer / Miller to join our friendly, skilled team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys varied work, problem-solving and taking pride in producing high-quality components.
Unlike larger manufacturers, no two days are the same. You'll be involved in everything from one-off prototypes to small production batches, working closely with the team and seeing projects through from drawing to finished part.
What You'll Be Doing
- Programming, setting and operating CNC milling machines.
- Programming Hurco and Mikron CNC machines (or similar).
- Producing precision-machined components from engineering drawings.
- Selecting tooling, fixtures and machining strategies.
- Optimising programmes to improve efficiency and quality.
- Inspecting completed components to ensure they meet specification.
- Working with the engineering team to solve machining challenges.
- Maintaining a safe, clean and organised work area.
About You
You'll ideally have:
- Previous experience programming CNC milling machines.
- Experience with Hurco controls or similar CNC systems.
- Strong knowledge of machining processes and tooling.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Good understanding of tolerances and quality standards.
- A proactive attitude with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
