You must have a positive attitude and capable of achieving high end results. You will have previous experience of broiler farms and an excellent understanding of bird welfare issues. Accurate recording of information, ability to communicate clearly and concisely as well as excellent people management skills a prerequisite.

Duties
- Manage the day-to-day care and welfare of broiler chickens, including feeding, watering, and health monitoring.
- Conduct routine maintenance and repairs of equipment using hand tools, power tools, and mechanical knowledge.
- Implement and monitor biosecurity measures to prevent disease outbreaks.
- Maintain accurate records of flock health, growth rates, feed consumption, and environmental conditions.
- Assist with equipment repair and troubleshooting to minimise downtime.
- Coordinate with team members to ensure efficient operation of the poultry house.
- Apply basic maths skills for inventory management and data recording related to feed levels and growth metrics.
- Support horticultural activities such as managing plant-based environmental enrichments or landscaping around the farm.
Requirements
- Proven experience in animal care, particularly with poultry or livestock management.
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to repair equipment using hand tools, power tools, and perform routine maintenance.
- Familiarity with irrigation systems and horticultural practices is advantageous.
- Basic maths skills for record keeping and inventory management.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in record keeping.
- Good understanding of animal husbandry practices and welfare standards.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Relevant experience in equipment repair or maintenance is desirable but not essential.
