The Role
This is a great opportunity to play a key role in how Vanquis funds its future. As Manager – Debt Capital Markets, you’ll help shape and manage wholesale funding activity that supports our customers, strengthens our balance sheet and gives senior leaders the insight they need to make confident decisions. You’ll work with complex data, capital markets transactions and a wide range of internal and external partners, turning technical analysis into clear outcomes that support responsible growth.
You and your Team
You’ll join the Debt Capital Markets team within Group Treasury, reporting to the Head of Asset Liability Management. The team is responsible for identifying, measuring, managing and controlling the Group’s wholesale funding requirements, making sure funding activity is well governed, aligned to our risk appetite and meets relevant regulatory requirements. In this role, you’ll manage key activity across existing and future capital markets issuances, helping to maintain investor confidence and support Vanquis’ funding strategy.
As Manager – Debt Capital Markets, you will:
- Support the development of wholesale funding plans and analysis of intragroup funding needs, making sure updates are organised, accurate and completed on time.
- Assess proposed funding transactions, including cost and benefit analysis, to help determine whether they meet the Group’s target funding structure.
- Analyse financial market trends, investor appetite and funding options, turning complex information into clear recommendations for senior stakeholders.
- Coordinate and support capital markets transactions and projects, managing plans through to completion and reviewing outcomes after launch.
- Create, validate, document and maintain funding models, including loan pool forecasts, cash flow forecasts and stress testing scenarios.
- Manage investor reporting, early warning indicators, covenant compliance and requests from investors during marketing and after transactions close.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who can bring technical expertise, sound judgement and a collaborative approach to a role that has a real impact on our funding strategy and investor confidence.
Essential:
- Strong experience in a capital markets or treasury function within financial services.
- Hands-on securitisation experience, with an understanding of debt capital markets, debt issuance and hedging instruments.
- Understanding of the typical credit analysis and perspectives of debt investors across the capital structure.
- Confidence working with large, complex data sets, including building and reviewing models in Microsoft Excel.
- Detailed knowledge of the characteristics of a variety of loan products used in the business, specifically auto loans, unsecured loans and credit cards.
- Demonstrable experience building and maintaining key external relationships, including external advisors such as legal firms, rating agencies, accountants and auditors.
- The ability to turn data into useful management information and clear recommendations.
Desirable:
- Experience of Microsoft VBA or SQL would be beneficial
- Demonstrable experience using AI to analyse data is highly beneficial
