WHO WE ARE
Tatry Group is a family-run, ethical Cleaning, Security, and facilities business passionate about People and Places. Based in Milton Keynes, we deliver services to offices, schools, healthcare sites and industrial facilities.
THE ROLE
As an Area Supervisor, you are the operational lead for a patch of 10 to 20 sites. You will lead a team of around 15-40 cleaners, ensure every site is cleaned to standard, step in when cover is needed, and serve as the first point of contact for day-to-day issues. You are mentored by your Operations Manager, and this would suit someone willing and capable of being developed toward taking on a full Area Manager role.
This is a hands-on, field-based role. You will be on the road every day — visiting sites, coaching your team, checking quality, resolving issues and keeping things running. You will begin to develop your understanding of your patch and take on increasing accountability over time.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
Operational delivery
- Ensure all sites in your patch are cleaned to the required standard and in line with each site's cleaning schedule
- Conduct site visits and quality audits across your patch — identify issues before the customer does
- Cover sites yourself when a cleaner is absent, and cover cannot be arranged — this role requires hands-on cleaning
- Step in at short notice across unfamiliar sites within the patch
- Lead specialist and deep cleans when required
- Implement small improvements to cleaning plans and site setups at the site level
Stock, equipment and consumables
- Check stock levels at each site and coordinate consumable orders and deliveries
- Ensure all sites have the right equipment and materials to carry out the work
- Carry out equipment maintenance checks and report faults or replacement needs promptly
- Arrange and deliver consumable orders and replacements across the patch
Team management and HR
- Lead, motivate and support a team of site cleaners across 10 to 20 sites
- Conduct site inductions and on-the-job training for new starters
- Issue informal feedback to staff
- Handle return-to-work conversations and probation check-ins
- Create rotas and manage scheduling across your patch, ensuring sites are always covered
- Manage holiday requests and ensure adequate cover is approved and in place
- Review and approve timesheets — submit to your Manager by the required deadline
- Conduct informal performance check-ins with site cleaners regularly
- Record and report absences accurately using company systems
Supervision, compliance and H&S
- Deliver regular toolbox talks to cleaning teams across your patch
- Conduct and record quality audits and customer satisfaction checks across your sites
- Enforce safe systems of work and conduct dynamic risk assessments where needed
- Enforce company SOP compliance and keep site files and records up to date
- Provide immediate first aid when required — first aid training provided
- Distribute and monitor uniform across your team — ensure all staff are correctly presented
Customer relationships
- Act as the day-to-day point of contact for site contacts across your patch
- Resolve site-level client issues that do not require credit or scope changes — escalate anything larger to your Manager
- Troubleshoot and resolve site-level problems quickly and calmly
- Conduct site visits at least fortnightly at every site in your patch
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- A natural leader — people follow you because you are fair, calm and consistent
- Highly organised — able to manage your own schedule, rota and patch independently
- Confident communicating with both team members and customers
- Calm under pressure — you find solutions, not excuses
- Flexible with working hours — this role is not 9 to 5
- A valid manual driving licence — company van provided
- Willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS check
- Some experience in commercial cleaning is preferred
