Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Casting Operations Excellence Executive to lead continuous improvement initiatives within our casting production processes. This role is vital in optimizing operational efficiency, ensuring quality standards, and fostering innovation across casting operations. Responsibilities
- Analyze casting processes to identify root causes of inefficiencies, defects, or delays, utilizing tools such as root cause analysis and data-driven methodologies.
- Develop and implement process improvements leveraging CAD (Computer-Aided Design), SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and schematics to optimize tooling, fabrication, and assembly workflows.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and modify molds, fixtures, and tooling for plastics injection molding and other casting techniques.
- Utilize programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and other automation tools to enhance process control and operational consistency.
- Conduct mechanical assessments of equipment and tooling to ensure compliance with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards and safety regulations.
- Lead initiatives in continuous improvement by applying lean manufacturing principles, focusing on quality enhancement, waste reduction, and process standardization.
- Support the development of schematics, technical drawings, and CAD models for new projects or modifications in casting operations.
- Facilitate training sessions on welding, assembly techniques, plastics injection molding processes, and other manufacturing best practices.
- Monitor production metrics to ensure adherence to quality standards while maintaining high levels of safety and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in manufacturing or casting operations with a focus on process optimization and continuous improvement.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in fabrication, tooling design, welding, and assembly processes.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD for designing schematics and technical drawings.
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for automation control systems.
- Knowledge of plastics injection molding processes including mold design, material selection, and quality control measures.
- Ability to perform root cause analysis effectively to troubleshoot complex issues within casting operations.
- Understanding of GD&T principles for precise measurement and quality assurance.
- Experience working with schematics, technical drawings, or schematics documentation related to manufacturing equipment.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate across teams and document process improvements clearly.
