We are pleased to offer an opportunity for an experienced and motivated colleague to join our in-house Revenues and Benefits team as a Benefit Assessor.
This role is ideal for individuals looking to develop or deepen their expertise in Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support within a supportive, customer-focused environment.
About the Role
As part of our established team, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely assessment of Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support, ensuring residents receive the support they are entitled to.
This is a key role within the service, involving:
- Managing a varied caseload
- Working with complex and sensitive information
- Supporting residents, including those who may be vulnerable
- Contributing to a high-quality, customer-focused service
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking someone who:
- Has previous experience in Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support assessment
- Demonstrates strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Is confident in handling challenging situations and conversations
- Has an investigative approach to casework
- Can communicate clearly and calmly, even under pressure
- Works well both independently and as part of a team
A positive, professional and collaborative approach with colleagues and customers is essential.
