A.W. Jenkinson Forest Products is one of the UK's leading forestry, timber and biomass businesses, operating from multiple locations across the UK. As our business continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced and motivated IT Support & Infrastructure Engineer to join our internal IT team.
The Role
This is a full-time, fully office based role. Reporting to the IT Manager, you will provide technical support and infrastructure administration across a diverse multi-site environment. You will be responsible for resolving IT issues, maintaining core business systems, and assisting with the implementation of new technologies across the Group.
The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently, troubleshooting complex issues, and engaging with users at all levels of the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, network and infrastructure issues.
- Support and administer Microsoft 365 services, Teams, OneDrive and SharePoint.
- Configure and maintain network infrastructure including switches, wireless networks.
- Support and administer telephone and PBX systems, including user provisioning and deployment.
- Manage endpoint devices including desktops, laptops, mobile devices and printers.
- Maintain technical documentation and support procedures.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a 2nd Line Support, Infrastructure Support or Systems Engineer role.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows desktop and server operating systems.
- Knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy and Microsoft Entra ID.
- Strong understanding of networking technologies including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Vlan’s and VPNs.
- Experience diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between sites when required.
Desirable Skills & Experience
- SharePoint administration and management.
- Experience with VMware and/or other virtualisation platforms.
- Support and administration of IP telephony and PBX platforms.
- Microsoft Intune and endpoint management experience.
- Experience within a multi-site business environment.
