We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic and committed Early Years Practitioner to join our nursery team.
Hours of work
- 41 hours per week
- 7.45am–6.00pm over four days
- A consistent weekday off each week
Rate of pay: £14.00 per hour
£500 joining bonus for applicants who hold a full and relevant Level 3 early years qualification or above. The bonus is payable following the successful completion of the probationary period and is subject to the applicable terms and conditions.
Main duties will include:
- Providing high-quality care and education in accordance with the Early Years Foundation Stage.
- Building warm, secure and positive relationships with children.
- Supporting children’s learning and development through purposeful play, interactions and experiences.
- Acting as a key person and working closely with children and their families.
- Observing children’s development and using this knowledge to plan appropriate next steps and learning opportunities.
- Supporting children’s individual needs, including children with SEND and those who may require additional support.
- Promoting children’s health, safety, emotional wellbeing and independence.
- Following safeguarding, child-protection, health and safety, confidentiality and data-protection procedures.
- Working collaboratively with parents, carers, colleagues and other professionals.
- Helping to maintain an engaging, inclusive, safe and well-organised learning environment.
- Carrying out personal-care routines respectfully and in accordance with children’s individual needs.
- Participating in staff meetings, supervision, training and continued professional development.
The successful applicant will:
- Hold a full and relevant Level 3 early years qualification or above.
- Have a sound understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
- Understand their responsibilities for safeguarding children and promoting their welfare.
- Be confident in supporting children’s learning, development and emotional wellbeing.
- Be warm, patient, dependable and enthusiastic.
- Have strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Be able to build positive and professional relationships with children, families and colleagues.
- Be committed to inclusive practice and meeting the individual needs of every child.
- Be willing to undertake relevant training and continue developing their professional knowledge.
