We are looking for a passionate and reliable Nursery Chef to join our friendly nursery team and provide nutritious, delicious and varied meals for our children.
As our Nursery Chef, you will be responsible for planning and preparing healthy meals and snacks that meet the nutritional needs of young children, while maintaining the highest standards of food hygiene, safety and cleanliness.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare fresh, nutritious and well-balanced meals and snacks for children.
- Create varied menus that cater for different ages, dietary requirements and allergies.
- Follow food hygiene, health and safety and allergen procedures at all times.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised kitchen.
- Order and manage food supplies, ensuring stock is fresh and within budget.
- Keep accurate records relating to food temperatures, cleaning and allergens.
- Work closely with nursery staff to understand children's individual dietary needs.
- Ensure meals are prepared and served in line with nursery policies and procedures.
- Minimise food waste while maintaining high standards of quality.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Experienced in working as a chef, ideally within a nursery, school or childcare setting.
- Passionate about providing healthy and nutritious food for young children.
- Knowledgeable about food hygiene and allergen requirements.
- Organised, dependable and able to work independently.
- Friendly and approachable, with a positive attitude.
- Able to work as part of a wider nursery team.
Pay: £12.71-£13.50 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 25.0 per week
