Trainee Electroplater – Electroplating Company

Hours: Monday to Thursday (with overtime available)
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Trainee Electroplater to join our busy electroplating team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop a long-term career in the manufacturing and engineering industry.
Full training will be provided, making this an ideal position for someone with a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and an interest in developing practical skills within an electroplating environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Learning and assisting with the electroplating process under the guidance of experienced operators.
- Jigging and de-jigging components ready for the electroplating process.
- Preparing components and ensuring they are correctly positioned for processing.
- Learning to operate and monitor electroplating tanks and associated equipment.
- Working safely around chemical treatment and plating tanks.
- Handling and transferring chemicals in accordance with company procedures and safety requirements.
- Following chemical handling procedures, COSHH requirements, and all relevant health and safety regulations.
- Assisting with monitoring and maintaining chemical tanks and plating baths.
- Reporting any issues, spills, leaks, equipment faults, or abnormalities to the appropriate supervisor.
- Inspecting finished components to ensure quality standards are met.
- Carrying out general labouring and housekeeping duties throughout the production area.
- Packaging and preparing completed products for dispatch.
- Assisting experienced electroplaters and production staff as required.
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised work environment.
- Using appropriate PPE and following all company health and safety procedures.
- Working towards developing the skills and knowledge required to become a fully trained Electroplater.
Requirements
- No previous electroplating experience is required – full training will be provided.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing, engineering, or production environment is advantageous but not essential.
- Willingness and ability to work safely around chemical tanks and industrial chemicals.
- Strong willingness to learn and develop new practical skills.
- Good attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to follow instructions, COSHH requirements, and company procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
- Good timekeeping and reliability.
- Ability to carry out manual handling tasks.
- Comfortable working in a hands-on industrial environment.
