Job description
Our client is a social housing contractor seeking an experienced Repairs Supervisor to manage and lead directly employed trade operatives. This role is covering areas from Harlow to Chelmsford.
Role and responsibilities
- Support Contracts Managers to deliver high-quality repairs and maintenance.
- Coordinate with Schedulers to deploy operatives efficiently and keep jobs on track.
- Ensure repairs are delivered on time, to standard and within budget.
- Carry out pre- and post-inspections to ensure quality, compliance and value for money.
- Conduct site inspections, resolve issues and manage customer complaints.
- Support environmental targets and stay ahead of legislation and best practice.
- Monitor materials, stock, costs and operative performance against targets.
- Keep up to date with repairs systems, technology and industry standards.
- Take a proactive, flexible approach and support the wider repairs team.
Requirements
- Supervisory or line management experience in a reactive repairs environment with directly employed operatives.
- Social housing experience
- Familiarity with mobile technology and IT systems (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong communication, teamwork, and ability to motivate staff.
- Willingness to work out-of-hours when required.
- Full UK Driving Licence
