This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a busy kitchen environment, takes pride in preparing home-cooked meals, and understands the importance of providing nutritious, balanced food that contributes to the wellbeing and happiness of our residents.
Responsibilities:
Prepare, cook and serve nutritious, balanced and attractive meals, taking into account individual preferences and special dietary requirements.
Ensure all food hygiene and food safety standards are maintained in line with current regulations.
Observe minimum temperature requirements during cooking, reheating, hot holding and serving of food.
Maintain accurate kitchen records and documentation as required.
Store food correctly and manage stock rotation to minimise waste and control costs.
Maintain the kitchen, food storage areas, equipment, crockery, cutlery and utensils in a high standard of cleanliness.
Use kitchen equipment safely and in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and health and safety requirements.
Attend training sessions and meetings as required.
Support a positive and engaging home environment and contribute to activities that enhance residents' quality of life.
Work as part of a team and undertake other reasonable duties within your capabilities.

About You:
You enjoy working with older people and have a caring and compassionate approach.
You have experience preparing and cooking meals in a professional kitchen environment.
You understand the importance of food hygiene, food safety and maintaining high standards.
You are organised, reliable and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
A Food Hygiene Certificate would be advantageous, although training can be provided.
Experience within a care home, healthcare or similar environment would be beneficial but is not essential.
You are willing to support and uphold the Christian ethos of the organisation.

Days - Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday.
