eCommerce Manager – Finnmark Sauna
Location: Spennymoor, County Durham (HQ office-based, Monday–Friday)
Salary: £50,000 per year
Start Date: flexible for the right candidate
About Finnmark Sauna
Finnmark Sauna is the UK's premier supplier of authentic Sauna, Steam, Spa, and Wellness products. We're known for delivering world-class bespoke sauna projects and supplying over 4,000 high-quality wellness products through our thriving eCommerce platform. With a strong UK online retail business and an ambitious expansion into European markets underway, we're building out the team to take Finnmark to the next level.
About the Role
We're looking for an eCommerce Manager who lives and breathes online retail — someone equally comfortable tweaking a Shopify backend as they are analysing product performance, liaising with developers, or briefing freelancers or in-house teams on creative deliverables.
You'll be the central figure driving the ongoing performance, optimisation, and evolution of our UK website, while playing a key role in our internationalisation into Europe. Although you'll work alongside our in-house teams and our development agency, you'll also be required to roll up your sleeves and get hands-on with all aspects of content, site changes, and project work on a regular basis.
This is a hands-on, high-impact role that requires “doing the doing”, alongside strategic leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage, maintain, and optimise our Shopify website(s) across the UK, with growing responsibility for our EU site
- Upload and manage all website content: new products, collections, landing pages, blog content, imagery, and metadata, alongside support from our marketing team of eCom execs, creatives, and SEO/content
- Ensure the user experience remains seamless, modern, and on-brand, while constantly seeking opportunities to improve conversion and reduce friction
- Liaise with our development agency, freelancers, and SEO specialists to deliver updates, fixes, and performance improvements on time and to spec
- Monitor and interpret key analytics data (Google Analytics, Search Console, Klaviyo, Shopify reports) to make data-led decisions and drive continuous improvement
- Oversee product taxonomy, categorisation, and navigation logic to ensure intuitive, efficient user journeys
- Collaborate with marketing, sales, customer service, and logistics teams to ensure the site reflects business priorities and supports campaigns
- Support the launch and strategic growth of our EU site, adapting user experience, structure, and SEO for different markets (assisted by our SEO Manager and Shopify web dev agency)
- Lead and manage ongoing project work and continuous website development, working alongside our dev agency to plan and prioritise the roadmap
- Be proactive, suggesting improvements, spotting gaps, and never settling for 'good enough'
About You
Essential:
- 5+ years' experience managing or running a high-performance eCommerce site, and at least 3+ years working on Shopify
- Experience with, or strong understanding of, internationalisation, Shopify markets, and multi-region/expansion stores
- A deep understanding of core eCommerce fundamentals — UX, analytics, conversion rate optimisation, merchandising, customer journey mapping
- Strong IT and computer literacy, comfortable navigating eCommerce platforms, warehouse management systems, and spreadsheets
- A strong operator with excellent attention to detail and the ability to execute independently and at speed
- Confident briefing and managing developers, designers, and third-party agencies to deliver digital projects
- Fluent in Google Analytics and Search Console, with a data-first mindset
- AI-fluent, utilising necessary tools throughout daily workflows to maximise output
Desirable but not essential:
- Understanding and awareness of localised SEO and Hreflang
- Experience with Cloud Commerce Pro or similar warehouse management systems
- Understanding of the wider digital marketing landscape (SEO, PPC, email, social) and how it impacts eCommerce performance
- An interest in interiors, wellness, or premium lifestyle brands
Salary & Benefits
- £50,000 per year
- 28 days holiday (including public holidays)
- Option to purchase up to 10 additional holiday days via salary sacrifice
- Free on-site parking
- Flexitime around our core office hours
- Employee discount on Finnmark products
- Join a talented, supportive, and creative team of 60+ people
- Be part of a fast-growing company with ambitious international expansion plans
