This isn't a pure sales role. That's the point.
Most AE roles are either all pipeline, no relationship - or all account management, no commercial ownership. This one is both. You'll own the full customer journey - from the first demo to onboarding to making sure they're still getting real value months later. It's more "is this actually a good fit?" than "how do I get this over the line?" - and once they sign, you don't disappear.

Upscope makes cobrowsing software - it lets support and sales teams see and guide customers through their screen in real time, no downloads needed. Simple idea, really useful in practice. This role is focused on UserView, our product for support and onboarding teams.
We're a small team based in Soho. We like being small. It means things move fast, everyone's close to the product, and there's no layer of process between you and actually helping a customer.
Compensation: £29,000 - £34,000 base + uncapped commission (OTE £40,000 - £45,000)
Location: Office-based, Soho
You'll handle inbound leads end-to-end: qualifying, running demos, closing, onboarding new customers, and staying close to accounts after they sign up. That includes renewals, spotting expansion, answering questions, and flagging when something isn't quite right.
A heads-up on hours: a chunk of our customers are US-based, so there'll be some evening calls each week. We're flexible during the day to balance it out, and the team works around it together.
Running discovery calls and tailored demos that focus on what the customer is actually trying to solve
Moving inbound leads through to close - no cold outreach, these people already want to talk
Onboarding new customers and making sure they get off to a good start
Keeping an eye on account health and stepping in when something looks off
Handling support queries via Intercom and being a reliable, responsive point of contact
Feeding what you're hearing from customers back to the team
Maybe you're a year or two into an SDR role and you're ready to own the whole conversation, not just book it. Maybe you've been in account management and want more of the commercial side too. Either way, you're someone who genuinely enjoys talking to people, asks good questions, and doesn't need to be pushed to follow up.
You're probably not the person who talks about "crushing quota". You're the person who notices when a customer is struggling and sorts it out before they have to ask.
Have 1-2 years in B2B SaaS sales, account management, or something hybrid
Communicate clearly, whether that's on a call or in a quick Intercom message
Are naturally curious about what customers are actually trying to do
Can explain a technical product in plain language without making it weird
Are organised enough to juggle a few accounts without dropping things
Are comfortable in a small team where you figure things out as you go
Intercom experience is a bonus. Being someone people genuinely enjoy talking to is what matters most.
