Join Alpha as a Mechanic
At Alpha, we're looking for a skilled and motivated Motor Vehicle Technician & MOT Tester to join our busy workshop in Liverpool.
You'll be working in a well-equipped environment alongside an experienced team, carrying out a varied mix of fleet maintenance and customer vehicle repairs. If you enjoy diagnosing faults, solving problems, and taking pride in delivering high-quality workmanship, we'd love to hear from you.
What You'll Be Doing
Your responsibilities will include:
- Servicing, maintaining, and repairing the Alpha fleet to the highest standards.
- Carrying out routine servicing, safety inspections, and MOT testing.
- Diagnosing and repairing vehicle faults using Snap-on and VCDS diagnostic equipment, together with the Autodata system.
- Completing a wide range of mechanical repairs, including clutches, cambelts, brakes, suspension, and other general mechanical work.
- Identifying faults quickly and accurately to minimise vehicle downtime.
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised workshop.
- Working closely with colleagues to keep vehicles roadworthy and available for use.
- Speaking directly with customers, explaining faults, repairs, and recommendations in a professional and friendly manner.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who takes pride in their work and enjoys being part of a team.
You'll need:
- A minimum of 3 years' experience working as a qualified mechanic.
- A valid MOT Tester qualification.
- Experience using modern vehicle diagnostic equipment.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- You will be expected to supply your own hand tools. Company diagnostic equipment and specialist tools are provided.
- A full UK driving licence.
Working Hours
- Monday to Friday 8am-4.30pm
- Participation in an on-call rota, covering approximately one weekend in every three.

Pay: £32,000.00-£34,000.00 per year
