Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Housekeeper to join our team in Swanage. In this role, you will ensure our holiday property is spotless and welcoming, contributing to memorable guest experiences. This position is vital in maintaining the high standards that Rural Retreats is known for.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare the property for guest arrivals, including cleaning, laundry, linen changes, and presentation of welcome hampers.
- Liaise with the bookings team and arrange guest key collection prior to arrival.
- Maintain stock levels of guest amenities, toiletries, cleaning supplies, and household essentials.
- Clean internal windows, empty bins, and ensure all areas of the property are guest-ready.
- Monitor and report maintenance issues, property damage, and inventory shortages.
- Conduct regular compliance and safety checks, including gas/oil level monitoring, smoke and carbon monoxide detector battery checks, and property security inspections during vacant periods.
- Facilitate access for approved contractors carrying out servicing, inspections, and PAT testing.
- Carry out annual property and inventory audits and assist with periodic deep cleans.
- Respond to guest issues during stays and perform service cleans where required.
- Manage petty cash purchases, submit expense records, and arrange cover during periods of absence.
Requirements:
- Previous housekeeping experience preferred.
- Excellent attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Strong communication and record-keeping skills.
- Full driving licence and access to transport preferred due to rural location.
