Duties
- Accurately and efficiently dispense prescribed medications to patients and healthcare providers.
- Verify the accuracy and clinical appropriateness of medication orders and prescriptions.
- Prepare, package, and label medications for distribution.
- Ensure all medications are stored and secured under appropriate conditions.
- Provide patient counselling and advice on over-the-counter medicines.
- Collaborate with local GP surgeries and other healthcare professionals to support optimal patient care.
- Maintain precise records of dispensed medications and patient information.
Skills
- Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in medication preparation and dispensing.
- Ability to work well in a team environment, collaborating with healthcare professionals.
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail to prevent errors
- Compassionate approach to patient care, demonstrating professionalism and empathy
- Good communication skills for effective interaction with patients and healthcare team members
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure whilst maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
- Familiarity with pharmacy management software is advantageous
Requirement
- Completed the Pharmacy Advisor qualification NVQ2 (or equivalent) or are currently working towards and have completed the first year of an MPharm qualification.
- Current and valid UK right to work. This role is not eligible for sponsorship for a Skilled Worker Visa.
Pay: £12.71-£13.50 per hour
