ARC Fire & Security is an established fire and security company providing installation, maintenance and reactive support across the South of England and London.
Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Fire & Security Small Works Engineer to join our expanding team.
This is a varied role suited to an engineer who enjoys fault finding, remedial works, upgrades and smaller installation projects.
The Role
As a Small Works Engineer, you will attend customer sites to complete remedial works, system upgrades, equipment replacements and small installation projects across our fire and security systems.
Typical works will include:
- Fire alarm detector, call point and sounder replacements
- Fire alarm panel and component replacements
- Fault finding and system repairs
- Emergency lighting repairs and replacements
- Intruder alarm repairs and modifications
- CCTV equipment replacement and small installations
- Access control repairs and modifications
- Installation of additional devices and system extensions
- Replacement of batteries, PSUs, interfaces and other system components
- Testing, commissioning and handover of completed works
- Attending reactive works and emergency call outs.
- Carrying out routine servicing during quiet periods.
- Producing accurate electronic service and completion reports
- Liaising professionally with customers and site representatives
Your Workload
All jobs will be scheduled and allocated to you through our engineer mobile app, providing you with the information you need for each visit, including job details, site information and required works.
The Service Department will manage your diary, allocate jobs and provide ongoing support throughout the working day.
You will be expected to complete each job professionally, accurately and efficiently, keeping the office updated through the app and raising any additional requirements or issues identified on site.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for an experienced engineer with a strong background in the fire and security industry, who is confident carrying out fault finding, remedial works and small installations.
You should have:
- Proven experience working with fire alarm and security systems
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Experience completing small works and remedial installations
- A good understanding of fire alarm systems and BS 5839
- The ability to read drawings and understand system configurations
- Good customer-facing and communication skills
- The ability to work independently on site
- A professional approach to customer sites
- Good written and IT skills
- A full UK driving licence
Experience with systems and manufacturers such as Advanced, Morley, Kentec, C-TEC, Pyronix , Texecom, Paxton, Dahua or similar would be advantageous.
Relevant industry qualifications and manufacturer training would also be beneficial.
