Job Overview
We are seeking a professional HGV Class 1 Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods across various locations. Responsibilities
- Safely operate HGV Class 1 vehicles, including flatbed lorries, in accordance with legal and company standards
- Plan routes effectively to meet delivery schedules and optimise fuel efficiency
- Conduct pre-journey safety inspections of the vehicle and report any defects or issues
- Load and unload goods, ensuring they are secured correctly during transit
- Complete all necessary documentation accurately, including delivery notes and logs
- Maintain a professional demeanour when interacting with clients and colleagues
- Adhere to all road safety laws and company policies throughout each shift
- Assist with general vehicle maintenance as required to ensure optimal operation
Skills
- Proven experience as a commercial driver, particularly in delivery roles involving flatbed lorries
- Strong driving skills with a clean driving licence for HGV Class 1 vehicles
- Knowledge of current road regulations and safety standards within the UK
- Excellent organisational skills to manage routes and schedules efficiently
- Ability to handle physical tasks such as loading, unloading, and securing cargo safely
- Good communication skills for liaising with clients and team members
- Prior experience with delivery driver roles is preferred but not essential; training can be provided for specific operational procedures.
Pay: £16.50-£18.00 per hour
