About the Role
ISCO Estates Ltd is looking for a reliable, professional and organised Part-Time Property Inspector to join our property management team.
The successful candidate will visit residential properties on behalf of ISCO Estates Ltd and carry out routine property inspections. The role involves travelling between properties, assessing the general condition of the property, identifying any maintenance or safety concerns, taking photographs where appropriate and completing a clear inspection report.
Inspections will generally be carried out every six months, with the exact working schedule arranged according to the properties requiring inspection.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Attend residential properties at pre-arranged inspection times.
- Carry out professional routine property inspections.
- Check the general condition, cleanliness and upkeep of the property.
- Identify signs of damp, leaks, damage, mould or other maintenance issues.
- Check the condition of fixtures, fittings, doors, windows and other visible areas.
- Check smoke detectors, fire alarms and carbon monoxide detectors where applicable.
- Take clear photographs of relevant areas or issues identified during the inspection.
- Record any maintenance or repair issues accurately.
- Complete an inspection report following each visit.
- Report any significant issues promptly to the property management team.
- Maintain professional communication with tenants and occupants.
- Ensure inspections are carried out respectfully and with minimal disruption to tenants.
- Follow ISCO Estates Ltd's inspection procedures and reporting requirements.
- Manage your daily appointments efficiently and allow sufficient time for travel between properties.
Requirements
We are looking for someone who is:
- Reliable, punctual and well organised.
- Professional and confident when dealing with tenants.
- Comfortable working independently and travelling between properties.
- Able to identify obvious property maintenance issues.
- Able to complete clear and accurate inspection reports.
- Comfortable using a smartphone to take photographs and complete digital reports.
- A good communicator with a professional manner.
- Able to manage appointments and meet agreed deadlines.
- Previous experience in property inspections, property management, lettings, maintenance or a similar role is preferred but not essential.
- A full UK driving licence is required.
- Access to a reliable vehicle is required.
Guidance will be provided to the successful candidate on our inspection process and reporting requirements.
Working Hours
This is a part-time, flexible position, ideally suited to someone looking for additional work.
Approximately 10–20 hours per week, depending on the number of inspections required.
Inspections will generally be arranged during daytime hours, Monday to Friday. Some flexibility may be required depending on tenant availability.
The role will involve travelling between multiple properties during the working day.
Pay
£12.75 per hour
Payment will be made for the agreed working time spent carrying out inspections and completing the required reports.
Mileage & Travel Expenses
Mileage will be paid at 55p per mile for approved business travel undertaken using the employee's own vehicle.
Business mileage will cover travel between properties and other approved work-related journeys.
The employee will be responsible for ensuring that their vehicle is appropriately insured for business use and is roadworthy and legally compliant.
