SENNIES is delighted to support a warm and dedicated family based across Windsor in finding an exceptional 1:1 SEN Teacher and Keyworker for their daughter G21. This is a truly unique and deeply rewarding role — combining specialist teaching, keyworker support, safeguarding, and genuine companionship for a young adult who has so much to offer the world and is ready, with the right person, to thrive.
The role is based across two settings: the family's home in Windsor and in Bagshot where she attends an Alternative Therapeutic and Educational Provision for a rich programme of therapeutic and educational input. The successful candidate will work closely alongside an established multi-disciplinary team — including a Counselling Psychologist, Speech and Language Therapist, Occupational Therapist and Art Therapist — as a key part of G21's overall support plan.
This is a permanent, full-time role (Monday–Friday, 48 hours per week). Annual leave is generous — a minimum of 9 weeks of paid holiday per year, including roughly 5 weeks in the summer, two weeks at Christmas and two weeks at Easter. During any remaining holiday periods, the Sennie will continue to support G21 through community activities, learning through interests and having fun. A car is provided during working hours for transporting G21 between settings and for community access.
About the child:
G21 is a gentle, kind, caring and bright young woman who loves life. She is wonderfully creative — she loves arts and crafts, Lego, music, baking and getting out and about. She adores her small Bichon Frise dog and has a great enthusiasm for learning new things. She thrives with the right 1:1 scaffolding and support, and her family describe how she comes into her own with a trusted, consistent person alongside her.
G21 has a severe speech and language disorder, selective mutism, anxiety, OCD and slow processing speed. Trust is absolutely central to her wellbeing — she takes time to feel safe with new people, and the relationship between G21 and her teacher/keyworker is the foundation everything else is built upon. Once that trust is established, G21 is an engaged, motivated and genuinely delightful person to spend time with.
G21 lives at home with her mother. Her two older brothers return home periodically. She receives Counselling Psychology, Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Art Therapy through the Alternative Therapeutic and Educational Provision. Her new teacher/keyworker will work alongside all of these professionals and be a consistent, daily presence teaching, supporting and caring for G21 across all of G21's settings — home, the Provision, and the community.
