We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Alternative Provision Key Workers to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to work closely with young people who require tailored support outside of traditional educational settings. You’ll play a vital role in helping them re-engage with learning, manage their emotions, and make progress both academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities:
● Provide one-to-one and small group support to children in alternative provision
● Use trauma-informed approaches and de-escalation techniques to manage behaviour and build trust
● Work closely with parents/carers, who may be anxious or distressed, to build strong partnerships and support networks
● Use Boxall profiling and other assessment tools to plan and evaluate interventions
● Transport pupils safely in your own vehicle when necessary
● Maintain detailed, professional written records, including progress reports and safeguarding concerns
● Liaise with schools, external agencies, and the wider multidisciplinary team
What We’re Looking For:
● A confident communicator with strong literacy and written skills for clear and accurate reporting
● Knowledge of child mental health, anxiety, and the impact of trauma on learning and behaviour
● Understanding of strategies such as diffusion and de-escalation to support children in distress
● Someone who is emotionally resilient, calm under pressure, and genuinely motivated to support vulnerable young people
● A full UK driving licence and access to a suitably insured vehicle
