We are looking for a reliable and safety-conscious Warehouse Shift Operative to join our dynamic Air Freight team. You will play a vital role in ensuring freight is received, handled, stored and dispatched safely, efficiently and in line with aviation security, HMRC and health & safety regulations.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with warehouse or logistics experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in delivering high standards of accuracy, safety and customer service.
Please note that this is a permanent night shift position, working 6:00pm to 6:00am on a 4 on / 4 off shift pattern,
Key Responsibilities:

Receive, process, handle and dispatch air freight in accordance with customer requirements and company procedures.

Load, unload and move freight safely and efficiently throughout the warehouse.

Ensure all shipments are correctly identified, labelled and supported by accurate documentation.

Carry out daily equipment and safety checks, reporting any defects immediately.

Operate material handling equipment (MHE) safely and responsibly where authorised.

Maintain high standards of housekeeping, ensuring work areas remain clean, organised and safe.

Follow all company policies, standard operating procedures and compliance requirements.

Adhere to aviation security, HMRC and health & safety regulations at all times.

Report damaged, missing or discrepant freight without delay.

Escalate any safety, operational or compliance concerns to supervisors and management.

Support the achievement of operational targets, service levels and dispatch deadlines.

Contribute to a positive safety-first culture by reporting hazards, incidents and near-misses.
What We're Looking For:

Previous warehouse or cargo handling experience within an air freight environment.

A strong commitment to health and safety and following procedures.

Excellent attention to detail, particularly when handling documentation, freight labelling and shipment checks.

Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-moving environment.

Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

A reliable and professional approach with excellent timekeeping and attendance.

Willingness to work permanent night shifts on a 4 on / 4 off rota.

Ability to undertake manual handling duties and work in an active warehouse environment.

Experience operating warehouse equipment or forklifts would be beneficial, although training may be provided.

A proactive attitude with the confidence to identify and report safety or operational issues.
