Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Nursery Cleaner to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment within our nursery. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all areas are hygienic and well-presented, supporting the overall wellbeing of children and staff. Previous experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial roles is highly desirable, though training will be provided for the right candidate. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a nurturing environment while working in a friendly team.
Duties
- Perform daily cleaning tasks across all nursery areas, including playrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, and outdoor spaces
- Ensure all surfaces, floors, and equipment are sanitised according to health and safety standards
- Restock cleaning supplies and toiletries as needed to maintain operational efficiency
- Dispose of waste responsibly and ensure bins are emptied regularly
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the working hours and after shifts are completed
- Follow health and safety protocols diligently to prevent accidents or contamination
- Report any maintenance issues or hazards to management promptly
Experience
- Previous experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial roles is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment usage is advantageous
- Ability to work independently with attention to detail and organisational skills
- Good understanding of health and safety regulations related to cleaning environments
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team in a busy nursery setting
Pay: From £13.80 per hour
