The Kent and Medway Cancer Alliance, hosted by Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust, is responsible for delivering a variety of cancer-related initiatives and programmes in Kent and Medway, following national direction as set out in annual NHS Planning Guidance, and in the recently published Cancer 10 Year Plan.
The main purpose of this role is to provide senior leadership for the Kent & Medway Cancer Alliance (KMCA) transformation programme and associated projects. This will require working with patients and partners to transform services, improve outcomes and experience and to make services sustainable. There will be a requirement to multi-task across a range of areas covering planning and delivery of transformation programmes, working with system leaders from across all healthcare sectors to drive forward evidenced based and clinically led improvements and embed best practice within patient pathways. In addition, the post holder will be responsible for managing a team, including Senior Programme Managers and associated support functions. The Associate director will lead this team in successfully delivering programmes of work.
Working with the KMCA senior team, the wider KMCA team and other stakeholders to lead strategy development for cancer in Kent & Medway.
Acting as a leader within the local health economy where appropriate to build trust and engagement through effective stakeholder engagement and clear strategic thinking to ensure delivery of the aims of KMCA. Leading, on behalf of the KMCA Director and the wider sector, the annual process for developing and planning the KMCA work programmes, including deployment of funds, ensuring strategic alignment with the wider ICB agendas and ensuring input from relevant stakeholders.
