About the Role
GKR Scaffolding Ltd is looking for an ambitious and commercially minded Pre-Construction Graduate to join our Pre-Construction team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a construction-related graduate looking to start their career within pre-construction, estimating and tendering, while gaining hands-on experience working on major construction projects across London.
Reporting directly to our Pre-Construction Lead, you will be involved throughout the tender process, from reviewing initial enquiries and construction drawings through to estimating, pricing, technical coordination, tender submission and project handover.
You will work closely with our Pre-Construction, Commercial, Design/Engineering and Operations teams, giving you broad exposure to both the commercial and technical sides of the construction industry.
Previous scaffolding experience is not required. We are looking for a capable and motivated graduate – we will provide the specialist industry training and practical experience.
What You'll Be Doing:
· Reviewing tender enquiries, construction drawings, specifications and client requirements.
· Assisting with the preparation and pricing of tender submissions.
· Undertaking quantity take-offs and assisting with estimates for labour, materials and plant.
· Supporting project cost forecasting and commercial assessments.
· Reviewing and interpreting construction drawings and technical information.
· Assisting with tender packages, pricing schedules and supporting documentation.
· Working with our Design/Engineering team to coordinate technical requirements.
· Developing an understanding of project logistics, sequencing and site constraints.
· Attending site surveys, pre-tender meetings and client meetings where required.
· Supporting tender clarifications and client queries.
· Maintaining accurate tender and pipeline information.
· Supporting the handover of successful projects to our Commercial and Operations teams.
About You:
We are particularly interested in graduates with a:
· BSc Quantity Surveying / Commercial Management
· BSc Construction Management
· BEng Civil Engineering
· BSc Construction Economics
We may also consider graduates from other closely related construction or built-environment degree programmes.
You will ideally have:
· Strong computer and IT skills – essential.
· Good Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
· Strong numerical and analytical ability.
· Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
· Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical information.
· Good communication and organisational skills.
· A commercial mindset and an interest in how construction projects are priced, planned and delivered.
· A proactive approach and willingness to learn.
