Pay and Benefits:
A starting salary of £75,000 - £80,000.
Working Monday to Friday and hybrid working with two days per week in our Nottingham office.

About the Role:
Reporting to the Finance Director, the Financial Controller is responsible for leading the financial control, reporting, governance and operational finance activities of the business. You'll ensure robust financial stewardship, provide accurate and insightful reporting, and lead a high-performing Finance team that supports effective decision-making, sustainable growth and strong customer outcomes. Acting as deputy to the Finance Director when required, you'll play a key role in shaping the future direction of the Finance function.
Essential Requirements:
ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification.
Significant post-qualified experience within Financial Control, Financial Reporting or Finance Management roles.
Experience, leading, coaching and developing finance teams.
Establish clear ownership, responsibilities and service standards across Finance processes.
A strong understanding of financial controls, statutory reporting and external audit processes.
Strong stakeholder management and business partnering skills.
Advanced Excel skills.
Able to work a minimum of 37.5 hours per week.
Desirable Requirements
Experience within financial services, lending, banking or another regulated industry.
Knowledge of IFRS 9, impairment accounting and portfolio reporting.
Experience of treasury, funding arrangements and covenant monitoring.
Experience supporting finance systems implementations.

Lead the delivery of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting, ensuring accuracy, completeness and timeliness.
Own the month-end and year-end close processes, maintaining a robust control environment.
Lead, coach and develop the Finance team, creating a culture of accountability, ownership and continuous improvement.
Oversee portfolio accounting activities, including revenue recognition, impairment, provisioning and interest income reporting.
Provide oversight and challenge of IFRS 9 reporting, assumptions and provisioning methodologies.
Lead external audit activities and support the delivery of statutory and regulatory reporting.
Provide commercial insight and decision support to senior stakeholders through robust financial analysis and reporting.
Oversee treasury, funding and cash management activities.
Drive continuous improvement across finance processes, controls, systems and reporting.
