St Johns Surgery is a busy, friendly practice with two sites located in Bromsgrove, Worcestershire. We are looking to recruit a part-time receptionist / care navigator to work 26.5 hours per week in our main surgery in Bromsgrove across the following shifts:
Monday 8am - 6:30pm (1/2 hour unpaid lunch break)
Tuesday 1pm - 6:30pm
Thursday 1pm - 6:30pm
Friday 1pm - 6:30pm.
Candidates need to have exceptional customer service skills to interact with patients and the wider health care team. The successful candidate will also be willing and able to provide cover for holidays and sickness when required.
We are seeking an individual who is highly organised, confident and self-motivated and who has the ability to work effectively as part of the team. Good communication skills (both written and oral) are essential, as is the ability to work independently.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience of working in a GP surgery. However training will be provided to suitable candidates.

In summary, reception responsibilities include:
- Greeting patients on arrival
- Supporting patients to use the online triage process to request appointments
- Liaising with patients following the clinical triage process to book appointments with the most appropriate clinician
- Directing patients to other healthcare providers where more appropriate e.g. community pharmacy, first contact physiotherapist services and eyecare services (care navigation).
- Providing test results to patients following GP review
- Dealing with patient queries and requests for assistance
- Consulting with members of practice team regarding patient queries
- Processing patients' changes of address
- Any other tasks allocated by the Reception Manager that are deemed appropriate to the role.
- Actioning any other tasks that may be required by the clinicians, Partners and Management Team to meet the needs of the business. The role is based at St Johns Surgery, BHI Parkside, Stourbridge Road, Bromsgrove B61 0AZ
Salary: £12.71 per hour
Pension: Access to NHS Pension Scheme
