Overview
We are seeking a motivated and friendly Shop Assistant to join our team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, maintaining a clean and organised shop environment, and supporting daily operations. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, enjoy working with people, and possess a proactive attitude. Previous experience in janitorial work or customer service is advantageous, and a valid driving licence is preferred for certain responsibilities. This position offers an opportunity to develop valuable skills within a dynamic retail environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist customers by answering queries, providing product information, and ensuring a positive shopping experience
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the shop floor, including tidying shelves and restocking items as needed
- Operate the shop’s cash register, handle transactions accurately, and process payments efficiently
- Support with stock management, including receiving deliveries and organising stock storage areas
- Support in general janitorial duties to uphold health and safety standards within the shop
- Ensure the shop environment adheres to health and safety regulations at all times
- Deal With patients and their requests e.g. ordering medicines, ordering specific stock.
Requirements
- Previous experience in customer service is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanour when engaging with customers
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when necessary
- Flexibility to adapt to varying daily tasks and priorities
- Basic numeracy skills for handling transactions accurately

Pay: £12.71-£12.81 per hour
