Job Summary
We are looking for a friendly, reliable Kitchen Hand & Sandwich Bar Assistant to join our small, close-knit team. In this role, you will do a bit of everything: preparing fresh sandwiches and salads, serving coffee, chatting with customers, and keeping our prep space running smoothly and safely.
This role covers two of our locations—our main site at RLC Calander (BB5 5AY) and roughly one day a week at Northern Relish Cafe (BB9 7DR). Because you will need to travel between sites, having a valid driving licence and access to your own vehicle is essential.
What You'll Be Doing
- Preparing fresh food daily, including making sandwiches, salads, and light food items.
- Serving customers, taking orders on the till, and making coffee behind the counter.
- Maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness across all prep and service areas.
- Working closely with a small team to keep service running smoothly during busy lunch periods.
- Cleaning utensils, kitchen equipment, and work stations regularly.
- Keeping an eye on stock levels and letting the team know when supplies are running low.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in a cafe, sandwich bar, or kitchen environment is preferred, but a great attitude and willingness to learn go a long way.
- A warm, approachable personality with a natural knack for pleasant customer service.
- Good knowledge of basic food safety and hygiene practices.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced environment while keeping a calm, positive attitude.
- A true team player who is happy to pitch in wherever needed.
- A full driving licence and reliable transport to travel between BB5 5AY and BB9 7DR.
