Kitchen Porter - Maneki Ramen Birmingham
At Maneki Ramen Birmingham, our Kitchen Porters are an essential part of the team, helping to keep our busy kitchen running smoothly. You'll be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organised workspace while supporting our chefs in delivering fresh, authentic Japanese ramen and dishes to every guest. Key Responsibilities
- Wash, sanitise, and store dishes, cookware, utensils, and kitchen equipment using commercial dishwashers and manual cleaning methods.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the kitchen, including workstations, floors, storage areas, and food preparation spaces.
- Dispose of waste and recycling safely and efficiently in line with company procedures.
- Assist with receiving, checking, and organising deliveries of fresh ingredients and kitchen supplies.
- Support chefs with basic food preparation tasks when required, such as preparing vegetables and stocking ingredients.
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is clean, well maintained, and ready for service.
- Follow all food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations, helping the team maintain excellent standards at all times.
- Work closely with the kitchen team during busy service periods to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience as a Kitchen Porter is an advantage but not essential - full training will be provided.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy, fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Reliable, hardworking, and committed to maintaining exceptional cleanliness and hygiene standards.
