Casual Traffic Control Steward (SIA Licensed)
We are seeking professional, reliable, and safety-conscious SIA Licensed Traffic Control Stewards to join our event team on a casual basis. Successful candidates will support the safe and efficient movement of vehicles and pedestrians at events, including sporting fixtures.
Role Overview
As a Traffic Control Steward, you will be responsible for managing vehicle and pedestrian flows, maintaining safe access routes, and assisting with traffic management plans to ensure the smooth operation of events. You will act as a visible and professional presence while helping to create a safe environment for attendees, staff, contractors, and members of the public.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and manage vehicle movements in accordance with event traffic management plans.
- Monitor and control access to designated parking areas, service roads, and restricted zones.
- Assist with the safe movement of pedestrians around vehicle routes and event entrances.
- Prevent unauthorised vehicle access to restricted areas.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with drivers, event attendees, colleagues, and emergency services.
- Report incidents, hazards, or suspicious activity promptly to supervisors.
- Maintain a high level of vigilance and awareness throughout shifts.
- Follow all event safety procedures, risk assessments, and site instructions.
- Provide excellent customer service while maintaining a professional and authoritative presence.
Requirements
- Valid SIA Door Supervisor or Security Guarding Licence (essential).
- Previous experience in event stewarding, traffic management, security, or customer service is desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Calm and confident approach when dealing with members of the public.
- Reliable, punctual, and flexible with availability, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
- Right to work in the UK.
