The Role
Newhall Mains is looking for a passionate and experienced Head Waiter. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, luxury hospitality environment and takes pride in delivering outstanding guest experiences.
Working closely with the Restaurant Manager, you will play a key role in leading service, supporting and developing the front-of-house team, and ensuring every guest receives warm, attentive, and professional service from arrival through to departure.
The Ideal Candidate
As a small, family-run business, adaptability is essential, and a willingness to support wherever needed is a key part of the role. We are looking for someone who leads by example, remains calm under pressure, has excellent attention to detail, and enjoys mentoring others while creating memorable guest experiences.
The ideal candidate will be punctual, organised, approachable, eager to develop both themselves and their team, and able to bring energy and positivity to every service.
Key Requirements
- Deliver impeccable customer service to both our restaurant and hotel guests.
- Assist the Restaurant Manager with the day-to-day running of the restaurant floor.
- Support the training, coaching, and development of front-of-house staff.
- Ensure smooth communication between the kitchen and front-of-house teams.
- Lead by example in maintaining exceptional service, presentation, and professionalism.
- Handle guest requests and resolve any issues confidently and courteously.
- Be flexible to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
- Previous experience in a Head Waiter, Senior Waiter, or similar role within a quality restaurant, hotel, or gastro pub.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a friendly, professional demeanour.
- Bring fresh ideas for systems, service standards, and operational improvements to continually enhance the guest experience.
