Job Summary
We are seeking a professional HGV Class 2 Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of goods, primarily utilising 18T lorries for pallet distribution and collection. This role requires a reliable individual with a strong focus on safety, excellent driving skills, and experience in commercial driving and delivery operations. The position offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic logistics environment, supporting the timely distribution of products to various locations.
Responsibilities
- Operate HGV Class 2 vehicles, including flatbed lorries, in compliance with all road safety and traffic regulations
- Plan and execute delivery routes efficiently, ensuring timely arrivals at designated destinations
- Collection and delivery of pallets from/to customers with use of tail lift
- Secure loads properly on flatbeds to prevent movement during transit
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any defects or issues promptly
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs
- Assist with loading and unloading goods as required
- Adhere to company policies regarding health and safety standards at all times
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery schedules or any unforeseen delays
Skills
- Proven experience as a commercial driver, particularly with flatbed vehicles and delivery routes
- Valid HGV Class 2 licence with a clean driving record
- Strong understanding of road safety regulations and best driving practices
- Excellent organisational skills to manage schedules and routes efficiently
- Ability to handle physical tasks associated with loading and securing cargo
- Good communication skills for liaising with clients and team members
- Prior experience in delivery driver roles is highly desirable

Pay: £40,000.00 per year
