Axis Counselling is a charity which has been supporting survivors of sexual abuse for over 30 years. We support adults and children aged from 5 years and over, plus family members and loved ones. We currently provide services via our five departments: Counselling; Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (ISVA) Service; Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA) Service; Complex Care Pathfinder and Training/ Education.
OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
To provide independent, victim/survivor centred emotional and practical specialist support and advocacy to children and young people (aged 13-18) affected by domestic violence who are deemed as being high risk.
To provide a client centred, trauma informed specialist domestic abuse support service working within a multi-agency setting providing a range of age-appropriate interventions, information and resources to facilitate safety and recovery.
- To risk assess and safety plan with clients to help keep them safe
- To recognise individual need and to facilitate access to other services that clients need
- To support the empowerment of the victim/survivor and facilitate their understanding of the dynamics of domestic violence
- Help clients access their rights within and external to the criminal justice process
The successful applicant will be required to understand and operate within the Axis organisation’s policies, procedures and guidelines and work to the principles of equal opportunities.
