Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Motor Vehicle Technician to join our team. Duties
- Conduct comprehensive inspections of motor vehicles to identify mechanical issues using schematics and diagnostic tools
- Perform repairs and maintenance on various vehicle systems, including engine, transmission, brakes, suspension, and electrical components
- Utilise hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to carry out assembly, disassembly, and repair tasks efficiently
- Interpret technical diagrams and schematics to accurately diagnose problems
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks safely when handling large or heavy components
- Maintain detailed records of all repairs and maintenance activities in accordance with company procedures
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and manufacturer specifications
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs clearly and addressing customer concerns professionally
Requirements
- Proven experience or training in automotive repair or related field is desirable but not essential; relevant technical qualifications are advantageous
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read schematics and technical diagrams
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other maintenance tools
- Ability to perform assembly and disassembly of vehicle components accurately
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance procedures and equipment repair techniques
- Physical capability for heavy lifting and standing for extended periods during work shifts
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Good customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
