Role: Sales Executive.
Location: This is a blended role combining field-based customer engagement across the assigned territory with a regular presence at the Hull Sales Office and Distribution Hub. Occasional homeworking may also be available, subject to agreement with the Line Manager.
Territory Coverage: Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and the Humber, with flexibility to travel as required.
Role Overview
We are looking for a proactive and commercially driven Sales Executive to manage and grow sales across the Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and Humber territory. This role combines field-based customer engagement with time spent at the Hull Sales Office, supporting strong collaboration and visibility within the wider team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing new business opportunities while maintaining and expanding existing customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities
· Proactively identify, pursue and secure new business opportunities across key market sectors, including timber and builders’ merchants, timber-frame manufacturers, modular and caravan manufacturers, building contractors, developers and other construction-related organisations.
· Develop and expand an existing customer portfolio, with a strong emphasis on increasing revenue and profitability through effective cross-selling and upselling initiatives.
· Establish, nurture and maintain strong customer relationships through regular face-to-face meetings, telephone contact and email communication.
· Promote the full range of Premier Forest Products’ timber solutions, delivering engaging product presentations and demonstrations where appropriate.
· Provide a responsive and professional service by managing customer enquiries efficiently, including enquiries relating to pricing, product availability and delivery schedules.
· Work closely with the wider Sales Team and Management to agree pricing strategies and support contract negotiations.
· Monitor competitor activity and market trends to identify opportunities and risks within the territory.
· Provide accurate and timely sales reports, forecasts and customer activity updates.
· Attend trade shows, networking events and customer meetings as required.
· Liaise with internal teams, including Operations and Logistics, to ensure smooth order processing and high levels of customer satisfaction.
· Maintain strong product knowledge and stay up to date with industry developments and best practice.
About You
· Proven experience in a sales role, ideally within timber, construction materials or a related sector.
· Strong sales and negotiation skills, with a track record of delivering results.
· Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
· Organised, self-motivated and comfortable working across field-based, office-based and homeworking environments.
· Confident using CRM systems and Microsoft Office.
· A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel throughout the territory.
