Location: Bexley, Outer London
Salary: MPS/UPS (Outer London) – Competitive daily rate for temporary cover
Contract Type: Temporary (6 weeks) with potential for permanency
Start Date: September 2026
About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated RE/Humanities specialist to join a well-regarded secondary school in Bexley for an initial 6-week assignment. This is a great opportunity to teach a rewarding timetable with no KS4 classes, allowing you to focus on building foundations at KS3 and stretching students at A-Level.
This role could become a permanent position for the right candidate, so it may suit someone looking for a longer-term opportunity beyond October half-term.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and high-quality RE lessons across KS3.
- Teach one Year 12 A-Level RE class.
- Cover a small amount of PSHE on the timetable – please note that you do not need to be a PSHE specialist; we are simply looking for someone willing and able to deliver this.
About You
We are looking for a teacher who:
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Has strong subject knowledge in RE/Humanities.
- Is flexible, proactive, and able to hit the ground running.
- Has a clean safeguarding record with no concerns or allegations against them.
Essential Requirements
- A valid Enhanced DBS certificate (registered on the Update Service is desirable).
- Evidence of recent safeguarding training (within the last 12–18 months).
- Your own right to work in the UK – please note we are unable to offer sponsorship for this position.
About the School
Our school is based in Bexley and offers a supportive and collaborative working environment, with a strong Humanities department. This is an initial 6-week contract (September to October half-term), but for the right individual, there is genuine potential for this to become a permanent role.
