We are looking for a reliable and hands-on temporary Warehouse Assistant to join our Warehouse team. You will support the efficient day-to-day operation of the warehouse by accurately picking, packing and preparing customer orders for dispatch.
You will help ensure that our products are handled, stored and dispatched safely, accurately and on time, while maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene and Health & Safety.
Due to the operational nature of the business, the role requires flexibility. Overtime will be required during busy periods, which may include weekends and bank holidays.

Key Responsibilities
· Accurately pick customer orders using the warehouse scanning device.
· Pack, wrap and prepare goods for dispatch.
· Check orders against the relevant manifest and ensure they are dispatched accurately and on time.
· Safely handle, move and store stock within the warehouse.
· Assist with loading, unloading and other general warehouse duties.
· Operate stackers/forklifts where appropriately trained and authorised.
· Maintain a clean, tidy and organised working environment.
· Report stock discrepancies, damaged goods, faulty equipment and other issues to the appropriate manager or supervisor.
· Follow company procedures and work towards agreed productivity and dispatch targets.
· Follow all Health & Safety, Food Safety, Hygiene and Quality procedures, including the correct use of PPE.
· Promptly report hazards, accidents, near misses, equipment faults or product safety concerns.
· Work effectively with the wider Warehouse team and support colleagues to maintain smooth operations.
Requirements
Essential
· Previous experience in a warehouse, distribution or similar operational environment.
· Experience of picking and packing orders accurately.
· Good attention to detail, particularly when handling products and checking orders.
· Good understanding of basic warehouse procedures and safe working practices.
· Ability to follow instructions, procedures and food safety requirements.
· Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a busy environment.
· Physically able to undertake manual handling and warehouse duties safely.
· Basic understanding of Health & Safety and hygiene requirements.
· Good English communication skills, both written and verbal.
· Flexible and able to respond to changing priorities.
Desirable
· Previous experience working in a food, grocery or FMCG warehouse.
· Experience using warehouse scanning or stock management systems.
· Experience operating a stacker or forklift, with relevant training/authorisation.
· Knowledge of food hygiene, food safety or HACCP principles.
· Experience working in a chilled, ambient or temperature-controlled warehouse environment.
