An OFSTED rated Outstanding SEN school in Lambeth is looking for a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant to work with children ranging from ages 4 - 19 for now and for September starts. The school prides itself in being an inclusive community celebrating diversity supporting children with a wide range of needs including autism and mild to severe/ complex learning difficulties.
This school is specifically looking for graduates and students with backgrounds in Psychology, Education or Health and Social Care that are looking to gain experience and kickstart a career working with children with special needs in a fast-paced and active environment. This is the perfect opportunity to gain first- hand exposure in a supportive and expert setting where you can learn and master strategies for working across a variety of Special Educational Needs.
Although challenging, the school will provide you with excellent opportunities for professional development, and you will learn and progress quickly with the ongoing support of a dedicated SEN consultant and bespoke training resources. They have roles that are both full and part-time, with flexible or immediate start dates, and pay starting at £108.50 a day with the opportunity to achieve up to £120 a day if you can really impress.
More than anything they are looking for really passionate, motivated and enthusiastic grads and students who have can-do attitudes and will go above and beyond for children. Hours are 8.45am-4.15pm.
The ideal SEN Teaching Assistant should:
- Have a genuine passion for or experience working with children with SEN
- Be flexible, proactive and patient
- Be resilient, passionate and driven to go above and beyond for children of all needs
- Be open to providing personal care
- Training or experience in non-verbal communication is preferred, but a willingness to learn is essential. For example Makaton, PECS
