Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and attentive Night Carer to join our team. This vital role involves providing overnight care and support to residents, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being throughout the night. The ideal candidate will be proactive, compassionate, and capable of maintaining a calm environment during nighttime hours.
Responsibilities
- Monitor residents overnight to ensure their safety and comfort
- Respond promptly to residents’ needs or emergencies during the night
- Assist with personal care tasks as required, including toileting and repositioning
- Keep detailed records of residents’ conditions, care provided, and any incidents
- Follow care plans accurately to meet individual needs and preferences
- Communicate effectively with day staff about residents’ overnight status and concerns
- Maintain a safe, clean, and quiet environment conducive to restful sleep for residents
Requirements
- Experience working in a care home or home care setting is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Good communication skills in English to interact effectively with residents and team members
- Ability to operate basic IT systems for record keeping and reporting purposes
- Strong observational skills and the ability to respond calmly in emergencies
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to support vulnerable individuals
