A Checkout Clerk & Property Inspector plays a key part in ensuring smooth, compliant tenancy transitions. You’ll complete end‑of‑tenancy checkouts, mid‑term inspections, inventories, and check‑ins while representing the company professionally on-site and supporting the wider lettings team. If you enjoy a mix of admin, property visits, and detailed reporting, this role offers a strong balance.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducting checkouts — completing end‑of‑tenancy inspections, documenting condition, and collecting keys
- Carrying out mid‑term inspections — assessing property condition and reporting maintenance issues
- Producing detailed inventories — creating accurate, legally defensible inventory reports with photos and descriptions
- Managing check‑ins — meeting new tenants, confirming inventory accuracy, and ensuring smooth move‑ins
- Updating internal systems — maintaining accurate records, uploading reports, and logging actions
- Communicating with tenants and landlords — providing clear updates, arranging appointments, and handling general enquiries
- Supporting the lettings team — assisting with admin tasks and ensuring operational efficiency

- Excellent attention to detail — especially in written reports and photographic evidence
- Ability to manage a busy schedule and work independently during property visits
- Confidence meeting tenants and landlords in person
- Comfort using digital reporting tools and apps
- Property experience helpful but not essential — full training provided
