About the Role
We are looking for a Production Section Controller to drive operational excellence across assigned production areas by supporting the Shift Manager in delivering safe, efficient, and high-performing operations. The Section Controller ensures production plans are clearly understood, resources are effectively deployed, and standards of safety, quality, GMP, and performance are consistently achieved. Acting as the operational link between Shift Managers and Line Leaders, the role focuses on visibility, control, problem-solving, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure production plans, priorities, targets and resource requirements are clearly understood and achieved.
- Promote and maintain a strong health and safety culture, ensuring compliance with SOPs, risk assessments, PPE and manual handling standards.
- Monitor production performance, efficiency, downtime and waste, taking action to address underperforming areas.
- Conduct regular communication and performance reviews with Line Leaders, including SIC meetings, briefings and handovers.
- Balance labour and resources across production lines to meet operational targets.
- Ensure product quality, food safety, hygiene, GMP, traceability and HACCP standards are consistently maintained.
- Verify that production checks and documentation are completed accurately and on time.
- Escalate risks, delays, equipment issues or non-conformances promptly to the Shift Manager or relevant support teams.
- Coach, support and develop Line Leaders and Production Operatives, including agency staff.
- Address attendance, performance and behavioural issues in line with company procedures.

This shift is 5 out of 7 days including weekend work, 6am – 3pm
