Pizza chef required at The Parlour Cafe and Restaurant, Burton Bradstock, Dorset, DT6 4ND.
We’re looking for another experienced and passionate Pizza Chef to join our kitchen team. We have our own dough recipe so we won't need someone to bring in their own, only a professional to cook them. You'll be cooking anywhere between 30 to 150 a day (over a lunch and dinner service). We need someone with a cool head, who doesn't crack under pressure and can get the job done.
We are an Italian-Mediterranean inspired restaurant specialising in Italian food cooked over wood and charcoal, freshly made Neapolitan style pizzas, homemade breads, fresh fish, unique and traditional salads, plus much more.
Duties:
- Preparing pizza dough, sauces, and toppings.
- Stretching and shaping dough by hand.
- Cooking pizzas using a traditional pizza oven.
- Monitoring oven temperature and cooking times.
- Ensuring consistency, presentation, and quality of pizzas.
- Maintaining cleanliness and food hygiene standards.
- Managing stock, ingredients, and food waste.
- Working efficiently during busy service periods.
- Collaborating with kitchen and front-of-house staff.
- Train junior staff.
Lunch service: 12:00pm - 3:00pm. Dinner service: 6:00pm-9/9:30pm. Times can change slightly depending on the demand and season. Prep will need to be done outside of these hours.
The right candidate will be:
- Capable of working in fast paced, high stress environments.
- An excellent communicator and team player.
- Experienced working as a pizza chef.
- Ambitious and hard working.
- Passionate about food and providing high quality food and service.
The offer:
- Pay is dependant on experience, plus you will get holiday pay, tips and service charge.
- Ideally working around 40-60 hours a week, maybe a few more over the summer spread across a 7 day week in summer and a 4.5 day week in winter.
