Duties
- Oversee overnight care routines, ensuring residents’ needs are met promptly and compassionately
- Supervise and support junior care staff during night shifts, fostering teamwork and maintaining high standards of care
- Implement and review personalized care plans to meet individual resident requirements effectively
- Monitor residents’ safety through regular checks, responding swiftly to any emergencies or concerns
- Maintain accurate documentation of night-time activities, incidents, and care provided using IT systems
- Communicate clearly with day staff about residents’ conditions and any overnight developments
- Assist with mobility, medication administration, and personal hygiene tasks as needed, always adhering to safety protocols
Qualifications
- Proven experience in senior or residential care settings, with supervising or leadership responsibilities preferred
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with residents, families, and team members
- Ability to work independently during night shifts while maintaining a high level of vigilance
- Valid driving license is advantageous for supporting resident outings or errands if required
- Knowledge of care plans, safeguarding procedures, and health & safety regulations in a care home environment
- Competent IT skills for updating records, managing documentation, and using care management software
- Demonstrated supervising experience in a healthcare or social care setting is highly desirable
