Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Special Needs Teaching Assistant to support children with diverse learning requirements within an educational setting. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers, parents, and specialists to foster an inclusive environment that promotes the development and well-being of children with disabilities, including those with autism. Duties
- Assist teachers in implementing personalised learning plans for children with special educational needs.
- Support children with autism and other disabilities during classroom activities, ensuring they are engaged and included.
- Provide one-on-one assistance to children requiring additional help, including toddlers and young children.
- Help develop social skills and behavioural strategies tailored to individual needs.
- Supervise children during playtime, meals, and other activities to ensure safety and well-being.
- Communicate effectively with children, colleagues, and parents to monitor progress and address concerns.
- Support the organisation of specialised activities that promote developmental growth.
- Maintain accurate records of children's progress and behaviour as required by the school or centre.
Skills
- Proven experience working with individuals with autism or other disabilities is highly desirable.
- Strong teaching abilities, with a focus on supporting children’s unique learning styles.
- Experience working with children in educational or care settings, including toddler care.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with children, parents, and team members.
- Knowledge of special education practices and behavioural management techniques.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children's development.
