Join our work to support our communities to thrive
You will be confident leading and supporting engaging activities, including our young gym sessions, gym inductions, group exercise workshops and boxing-for-fitness sessions, encouraging participation and building confidence across all ability levels.
Young Gym supervision will be the central focus of the role. You will be able to inspire young members, maintain high levels of engagement, and make fitness enjoyable and accessible, but you will also play an important part in supporting the wider gym community through delivering group exercise classes, one-to-one fitness sessions and gym inductions for members.
A key part of the role is maintaining a safe and supportive space, so you will need to always be highly aware of safeguarding responsibilities. You will be proactive, observant and confident in identifying and responding appropriately to situations that may arise, always putting the wellbeing of young people first.
We are looking for someone who can positively influence behaviour, promote respect, and create an inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome, supported and motivated to achieve their goals.
About you
You are a positive, approachable person who naturally puts young people at ease. Friendly and energetic, you enjoy working with teenagers and understand how to engage with them in a way that is both fun and respectful.
You have a calm and confident presence, able to set clear boundaries while building positive relationships. You are fair, patient and consistent, and you do not shy away from stepping in when needed to maintain a safe and well-run environment.
Alongside your ability to engage young people, you are confident supporting gym members of all ages. You are comfortable delivering group exercise sessions, one-to-one fitness support and gym inductions, adapting your approach to suit different people and abilities.
You lead by example, encouraging healthy habits, promoting confidence and creating an environment where all members feel comfortable and included. You take pride in being reliable and responsible, and others trust you to do the right thing even when things become busy.
Above all, you care about helping people enjoy fitness in a safe, supportive and positive setting, bringing enthusiasm, professionalism and a great attitude to everything you do.
